National Band Association
Our Mission
At the National Band Association at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, we strive to give music education majors (and others) a chance to perform on secondary instruments, to give developing a conductors a workshop environment to hone their craft, to give all a chance to become more familiar with high-quality repertoire at lower grade levels, and to provide members with numerous professional development opportunities.
Programs and Activities
We host bi-weekly reading ensembles on Wednesdays from 7:30-9:30pm in Harding Band Building (1103 S 6th St, Champaign, IL 61820) room 141. Additional events will be posted on the calendar, and sent out through email and social media.
Midwest Clinic
The National Band Association at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign attends the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, Illinois every year. This clinic provides our members with professional development opportunities, and gives members a chance to attend clinics, view exhibits, view performances, and interact with other musicians and educators.
Membership Requirements
Members of the National Band Association at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign are encouraged to attend reading ensembles, events, meetings, and the Midwest Clinic. In addition, members are encouraged to purchase a yearly membership through the National Band Association, for only $5!
